Repairing a “Pixie Ear Deformity”
This post is aimed at surgeons and cosmetic surgery patients.
A Pixke Ear deformity is a complication of facelift surgery and a dead give away that someone had a bad facelift. Although this is generally caused by improper surgery technique, it can occasionally occur from wound contraction. This deformity is most often seen from novice surgeons or those surgeons that do not understand facelift surgery. The pointed earlobe is a stigmata of surgery gone wrong and many patients don’t realize that it can be repaired. This video shows Dr. Niamtu repairing a pixie ear lobe deformity.
