Our Surgery Center

Our number one goal has always been to offer exceptional patient care in an advanced and safe environment. We are pleased to have a state of the art outpatient surgical facility. Our surgery center is modeled after a hospital environment. We have the same type of sterilization, equipment, instruments, anesthesia machines, emergency devices and surgical standards as do the local hospitals.

Dr. Niamtu is board certified and is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia to perform cosmetic facial surgery, IV sedation and general anesthesia. For larger cosmetic cases we have a staff of physician anesthesiologists who are fully credentialed in our accredited surgery center and experts in ambulatory outpatient anesthesia. Our doctors and nurses are also certified in advanced cardiac life support.

Types of Anesthesia

Numerous types of anesthesia are used for various cosmetic facial surgery procedures.  Some surgeries can be performed with local anesthesia or tumescent anesthesia.  Most surgical procedures (eyelids, facelift, browlift, laser, facial implants) are performed it conscious sedation and there is not need for hospital type general anesthesia.  More comprehensive general anesthesia is offered for patients that desire it or when the anesthesia personnel feels it is a safer alternative.

After Surgery

We also offer private duty nursing for the night of surgery if desired as well as experienced care givers that can provide supportive care for patients. These caregivers open their homes for patients and assist them in care for several days following surgery including wound care, meals and transportation to our office. Payment for these services are between the patient and the nurse or caregiver and are a popular option for patients that live alone or are from out of town.
