Meet Dr. Joe Niamtu
Dr. Niamtu is well known in international cosmetic surgery circles as surgeon, teacher and author. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His practice is limited to cosmetic facial surgery.
He lectures internationally on cosmetic facial surgery and has written over 200 publications on various cosmetic facial topics. Dr. Niamtu served as editor of 4 textbooks on cosmetic facial surgery and has written chapters in 19 other text books. He is currently writing a single author comprehensive text book on cosmetic facial surgery which will be published by Elsevier/Saunders, one of the largest medical text publishers in the world. The textbook should be available in July 2010.
Dr. Niamtu was honored with the Richmond Times-Dispatch Newspaper Community Service Award for his volunteer work on third world children with facial deformities. He is active in numerous charity organizations and has received awards from Richmond Area Retarded Citizens and the Safe Harbor Women's shelter, Noah's Children, Operation Smile, and Medical Care for Children.
Dr. Niamtu is married and has two special needs children with cerebral palsy.
